We are saddened by the passing of a longtime Operator Services employee, June Hindsley, who passed away on Monday, February 11 at the age of 69.

June was an integral part of the Operator Services area in Information Services at the University of Nebraska Lincoln since January of 1988. When June decided to retire in June of 2006 we were not quite sure how we would ever replace her. Fortunately for us, her retirement didn’t last long; she decided to return to Telecommunications in August 2006 to help on an on-call basis. In October 2007, June wanted to do more and moved into a part-time temporary Operator position, where she worked until she became ill in January.

June was not only a supervisor and a co-worker, she was a good friend. Her caring nature helped her to develop many long lasting relationships with people who interacted with Operator Services on a regular basis. She was an extremely dedicated employee. We will miss June’s smile, her energy, her sense of humor, her vast knowledge, and her willingness to help at all times.

June will be missed by many.
